Cryopolitics is currently on hiatus through mid-March, but in the meantime, a new article I wrote on Singapore and the Arctic has been published in the March/April edition of The Maritime Executive, one of the leading magazines in the shipping industry. The article is available to read for free online here.
For the article, I interviewed Paul Berkman, Professor of Practice in Science Diplomacy at Tufts University. Berkman spoke at the Arctic Circle forum in Singapore last November. He remarked to me:
“Singapore is a very sophisticated country…in terms of its ability to provide a global presence as a port facility that has emerged over a relatively short time. So there are lessons from Singapore’s experience in terms of providing some service capacity that operates on a global scale.”
Thank you for making your article available, interesting connection between Singapore and the Arctic. I’m considering a trip to Singapore to learn more about their posison. It is important for me and other business people in the High North to understand Singapore, that’s for sure.
